I am quite exhausted, having just hosted with JD 15 other people in our home for the weekend. I am full of yummy food and memories of great conversations and new inside jokes (and digital shorts). Now, I can look forward, to the start of spring and new projects on the horizon.
One project in particular is for the garden and something I’ve wanted to do for a while: rain barrelling. I found a tutorial on this site on how to make your own rain barrel. Then, later I found another step-by-step guide on the Apartment Therapy ReNest site. I now have a much better idea on the amount of time (and money) this project will entail, and I’m still not sure whether I’ll take the plunge. Has anyone done this project before?

OMG. yes. i know ALL about the rain barrell. my step-dad is obsessed with making his own, and no lie, we have approximately 30 of them around the house. sometimes, he hooks them up to the washing machine and makes my mom do laundry with rainwater. i think he has it down to about $7/barrell now. he gives them away as christmas presents. please let me know if you need more information.
Lauren, seriously?? That is awesome. You’ll have to fill me in this weekend. :)
