Merci beaucoup!

Above is what I have been doing for the past five or more nights. Thank you notes. Many, many thank you notes. 93 and counting. I’m not even sure I had that amount for our wedding….
I may be old-fashioned, but a hand-written, stamped and mailed thank you note really does go a long way. Maybe it is because my love language is service, but if someone sends me a note to thank me for something I did or bought them, I really like that.
Since there are so many notes for all the nice things people did at the funeral, I decided to make my own. I had actually taken off early from work on the day that Maw Maw died and went home to draw in my sketchbook. I ended up creating a series of feathers (although JD thinks the look more like pine needle branches), so I used them to format the thank you card. Here are some of my drawings:
