Renegade Handmade
Our second most successful stop around Bucktown / Wicker Park was the Renegade Handmade store. Wowie, what a shop!
Renegade Handmade is the bricks and mortar store derived from the annual Renegade Crafts Fair, one of the biggest driving forces behind the DIY craft movement. The first fair was six years ago and was held in Wicker Park, and in subsequent years, it spread to Brooklyn, Los Angeles and San Francisco. In 2007, Renegade Handmade opened.
I was so excited to go in, because I knew it would have a fun selection of items. I was not disappointed.
We bought prints…
(Both from EV Photo Chic)

earrings…
(from Prix Prix)
cards…

and even a belt and magnet!
It helped that JD also liked the store because everywhere we turned, there was a clever card, nice clock or fun display of onesies and shirts.
Before I forget, there is one more store I briefly want to mention: Una Mae’s.
The selection of clothes, jewelry, and homegoods was great. I bought an affordable necklace ($18) that I wore the very next day while still in Chicago (see below).

Tomorrow for Friday Feast…. Lou Mitchell’s!

So that’s where that great necklace came from… soft and delicate.
