It’s amazing what social media can do to revive old friendships, and even though my high school friend Jessica is not on Facebook, it has been wonderful to catch up (and keep up) with her through the power of email, Twitter, and even Instagram since we live so far away from each other now. Jessica lives in Jackson, Wyoming, and I love reading about all of her “northern adventures” with her husband Chris and son Oscar. (You can follow along too on Jessica’s blog.) Jessica is actually the best at hand-written correspondence, and I love how we share the appreciation of snail mail notes and good handwriting. She’s been a great friend to me, even though we haven’t seen each other in person since maybe even 2000! I’m thrilled Jessica has written four guest posts for me while I’m out on Kate Schmate Maternity Leave… I’ll space them out for you over the next few weeks!
We bought cotton tote bags about three years ago, so we could get off the plastic bags. We are fairly good about remembering our cotton grocery bags when we go shopping on Saturday, but it is the little errands when I never have them. I have seen Envirosax at stores, but never thought I would be able to get them rolled up again like they had on display. I also thought they would not hold anything, but they can hold up to 44 pounds. I received two as a gift recently and I love them. They are very easy to roll up, and, since they fit in my handbag, I always have them with me, so I am not using plastic bags when I pick up small things or I am running a quick errand. I live in a small mountain town where cashiers give you evil looks if you did not bring your own bag, so I am currently getting less evil looks. Also, our town is currently trying to implement a no plastic bag policy, so I am super thankful for my Envirosax bags. I don’t want to go to jail.
