Friday Feast: Best Salad Dressing Ever

August 31, 2012
Earlier this week, a friend emailed me requesting this awesome, sweet but sour, salad dressing that I frequently serve when we have dinner guests. I knew the recipe immediately, and I went to the Friday Feast category in search for the recipe. It was then that I realized I hadn’t documented it here… it’s such a wonderful concoction that is perfect for any time of year.
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
1 1/2 tsp lemon juice
1/4 c oil (canola, veg, or olive but not EVOO)
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp dry mustard
1/4 tsp curry powder
2 cloves garlic minced
few dashes of hot sauce
  • Mix and let sit for 30 minutes.
  • If refrigerate, let come to room temp or microwave for a bit before using.

The best way to describe this dressing is to say it is sweet with some heat. I mean it has sugar + hot sauce + mustard. It is quite good. I’ve found it is perfect with baby spinach, red onions, something citrus, and feta, but it is great for other salads too. Enjoy!
