Kermit and Glazed Doughnuts
I have a few weaknesses. We all do. But my longtime failures to resist doughnuts have been a serious struggle.
Yesterday at work, some graduate student named Michael brought doughnut holes from Krispy Kreme. Which was very nice. Which was perhaps unnecessary, considering I don’t even know who Michael is. Regardless, the department email was sent out that said, “Michael brought donuts,” and out the big window went my willpower.
Granted, I hadn’t had doughnuts in a long time. Except that time we went to the Donut Den with Della and Krammy. And, sometimes at church before the service… But, whatever, it’s been awhile.
Anyway, the point is, there is no excuse for the fact that I had five doughnut holes. In actuality, that’s like eating a whole doughnut, rather than a doughnut hole. I used to have a doughnut (a Cinnamon Twist to be exact) every Saturday while watching morning cartoons. I’d also have a bite of my dad’s apple fritter. So, for a long time, I was ingrained that Saturday + “Muppet Babies” = yummy goodness of doughnuts.
But, I’m an adult. I shouldn’t be having seven doughnut holes on a random Wednesday morning. And two in the afternoon.
Wait…how many doughnuts did you have?
