Painting the John

November 2, 2008

Whew! What a weekend! Mom and I put in some long hours, but our front half-bathroom is now quite nice. The red walls are long gone, and the new look is very soothing. People may actually want to stay in the bathroom for more than their business!

Here’s the “Before”:

And, here’s the “After”!

As you can see, we did more than just change the colors of the wall. The painting over the toilet is a piece Mom did, and we used stencils of agapanthus and grass to highlight a border that faded from her painting to the corner. It was so much fun, and I felt like we had the opportunity to add some neat little touches.

Of course, I need to add some accents, but overall, I’m very pleased with how it looks. Here’s a pic of the skilled painters in their finished product!

Wow…what great artists. Can’t wait to see what you choose to prop up (about 18″ tall) on the back of John to break that space. This room is on its way to bathroom throne of fame.
