Brief, girlie post…

April 28, 2009

All right, people. It’s time to buckle down and make decisions.

I have one month to decide on a dress for an upcoming wedding (yay Westerleas!), and the May budget is tight. I could buy a new one or wear a dress I already have. If I buy a new one, that means I probably can’t buy that peegee hydrangea I wanted for our backyard. And since the hydrangeas will last into late summer and this event is for one night, I think I’ll be shopping in my closet.

Here is where I need your help! This is very similar to the J Crew dress that I already have. (My dress has a lower chest and back.)

It is in black, and I wore it as a bridesmaid for my bestie Mary’s wedding last June. All the people that I saw at that wedding will be back for the one in May. So I need to jazz it up. But how?

With the criss-cross back, does this limit what I can do? Also, the wedding is in Texas, in May… translation= hot. I can’t wear scarves around my neck or cardigans. Finally, I need to use resources I may already have.

Do you have the styling secret or should I throw in the towel and go to Forever 21?

you could do a fun belt. belts are all the rage right now – you could find something jazzy.

OR, maybe a sparkly broach. they are not just for grandmas anymore.

What about headbands or hair clips?

Then you could pull yout hair up in a simple, clean style with some post earrings. These are my thoughts…..

Both excellent ideas! I could actually do all… seriously that might work.

Lauren, sometimes I wish I had your embroidery skills because you always have a way to change up an outfit!! :)

    Thanks, girls!

You could forego Qdoba for a month and just buy a new dress.
