West Point, NYC and a complimentary cabbie

October 12, 2009

JD and I just returned last night from a weekend in NYC and West Point. Vandy played Army at West Point on Saturday, and I went for work to man some buses and work the tailgate. Even though we lost, it was an awesome weekend, and the West Point campus is beautiful. We also spent some great, edifying time with our closest friends in New York City on Sunday. We had brunch at Sarabeth’s and walked briefly around Central Park before catching our flight Sunday afternoon. Such a great weekend!

Here are some of the pictures from the trip.

The most memorable part of the trip was on Saturday night. I had just unloaded the last of the folks off the bus back in Manhattan and hailed a cab to head back to Mary and Micah’s apartment. When I got in the taxi, the cabbie said, “Oh you are so PREEETY! So pretty and fresh!” I definitely enjoyed that after my long day working. Then, when we got to my drop-off spot, he said, “I wish you didn’t have to leave my cab, but I know you have to go.” :)

JD has told you and told you and told you how preeety you are, but it takes a cabbie to help bring it home. I love New York!
