Schmate’s First Etsy Shop of 2010
I had a long discussion with my old maid of honor/best friend/college roommate Mary over New Year’s about this here blog and what the heck I’m doing with it. I was telling her how I wasn’t sure why I was continuing it (considering I don’t make any money and that it is, in some way, time-consuming) but that I still enjoyed it (I still cannot pinpoint why). She emphasized that she returns to my site not only because she loves me but because I find things (like on Etsy or other online shops) that she cannot easily locate. It also gives her great gift ideas as well as minimizing her searching time. Thankfully for you, I like that answer!
Here’s the first Etsy shop of 2010, and it is certainly a unique and focused one. Designer Veronica Riley Martens is a fashionable jewelry maker who uses lots of different elements to make her pieces. Specifically, Veronica uses tagua nuts, “a sustainable, organic product that comes from the rainforest.” They come in many colors and are quite striking. Here is some of Veronica’s work:
