Turtles, Tornadoes, and Calligraphy

April 26, 2010

What a busy weekend! JD and I had cleared our schedules to have a relaxing weekend at home, and it was still filled with little adventures. On Saturday afternoon, we turned on the TV to find out that tornadoes were heading our way! So, while JD gathered items to go in our shelter/closet, I went outside to secure the gutter (yes, it’s come loose. I’ll fix it!). To my surprise, I found two visitors in our yard:

Introducing Bob and Stephen! (No, that’s not their real names, but we made them up for the afternoon that they were with us.) I’m not sure how they got in our yard, but they were super cute, and right before all the rain came through, I checked on them again, and Bob was making a run for it!

Riveting, isn’t it? Fortunately for us, the bad weather didn’t really make it to our neck of the woods, and we ended up just getting a good downpour.

Anyway, by Sunday, our new friends were gone, but the calligraphy project I had started Saturday was still going. I am doing calligraphy for the wedding invitations of my friends Katie and Alex, and it’s been really fun. I’m mostly doing the names only, and Alex is adding the addresses with block letters. It’s been a super fun project, and we’ll finish everything on Thursday night with an invitation stuffing party.

I hope Bob and Stephen are doing ok….

Great calligraphy. Did you learn that style at the famous Art Station in Ponchatoula?

I am so jealous! Kate, they look great! Great job.
Did Lucy get to see Stephen and Bob? Did you ask if they were any relation to the famous Slowsky’s of TV commercial fame?

    Love, Annette

I see a Norman, Oklahoma hidden on one of these pictures and what looks like a Christopher. However there is some kind of Blossom in between them. Is that someone else living in Norman, Oklahoma?
