Foodies in Revolt

October 18, 2010

I’m not going to lie… JD and I love food. We love quality television programming like “Top Chef,” “Chopped,” and most shows with Bobby Flay. Just the other night, we had an elaborate conversation with some friends about cheese. We like thinking of fun food combinations and trying different things. We love food.

On the other hand, I wouldn’t describe us as “foodies.” To me, “foodie” translates to “gourmet,” and neither of us are against a cheap meal from Taco Bell every once in a while.

All that to say, I really love this new set of “Foodies in Revolt” prints from Nicodemus Green, the guy behind one of our favorite prints: “Bacon is a little hug from God.” As they are described:

What would graffiti look like if gangs of rebellious, self-righteous foodies took to the streets with cans of spray paint? What messages would they try to convey?

Would they be hostile? Slightly!

Would they be aggressive in their pursuits of spreading the word about the government’s failure to monitor farmers falsely labeling their veggies as heirloom? Probably!

I really like the idea of this and even encouraged Nic in my comments on his blog to make fun of gluten-free living, and he did! Here’s the set of nine (click on each print to follow the link to the shop):
