2010 Holiday Gift Guide: Dudes, Daddies and other Difficult People to Buy For

November 30, 2010

Guys… you love ’em.  But, they sure are hard to buy for. Or, they’re painfully boring to buy for. Either way, we need some help to give them the perfect gift. Here’s this year’s Guy Gift Guide.

If MC Hammer is a name that brings back fondness in your household, here’s a print that pays proper homage. (William Dohman, $16)

What? Your man is from the South? Oh good, because from Texas to North Carolina, Volunteer Traditions has just the thing.

I love finding t-shirt shops each year, and here’s my pick for 2010: ExBoyfriend. Here’s a few that I like.

Can’t go wrong with sweet-looking leather flasks. (Leigh Made Etsy shop)

If your man is like my man, he loves books. Why not a few really snazzy-looking ones?

Guys like calendars too. Only, this one is a little more fun. (Puzzle Calendar by Paper Source, $12.50)

These vintage camera prints are really classy… great for your photographer husband or father. (CB78, $28)

Take buying your wine glass by the labels to a whole new level with these Swanson Vineyards bottles.

Jack Spade has some very fun “dude” gift ideas, including travel kits, wallets, “man bags” and other ideas. Here are some of the travel kits that I like.

Kits! Thanks to Unclutterer’s post on kits, here are a few all-in-one sets perfect for the prepared man in your life.

AAA 73-Piece Adventurer Road Assistance Kit

Total Resources International 250-Piece Outdoor First Aid Kit

Deluxe 2-Person Survival Kit for Emergency Disaster Preparedness for Earthquake, Hurricane, Fire, Evacuations, etc

Along the same lines, here’s a Bike Cozy tool kit roll, found on Etsy.

For your coffee-addicted Manhattanite-resident or -lover, these Take 5 mugs and trays are fun, manly gifts. You really can’t go wrong with anything from Fishs Eddy, though.

Turn him hopside down with this awesome glass from Kate’s Paperie.

Still not enough? Here’s last year’s guy guide if you need a refresher.

Hopside down… I picked this up at West Elm last week and asked Greg, “Do you think JD would like this?” He asked, “does he like beer?” I couldn’t even speak after he asked that question.
….Maybe he was asking a ‘does a bear sit* in the woods’ question.
