A personal “poem” about Spring

March 17, 2011

Goodbye, winter.

Goodbye, tights and soups and boots and thick sweaters. Goodbye to my morning long fluffy purple robe, hot chocolate at 3 in the afternoon, and four blankets while snuggling on the couch at night. Goodbye, good hair days, dark nail polish, my seat warmers, and barely sweating during the day (I said barely.) Goodbye, second-favorite season of the year (after fall). But…

Hellllloooooooooooooo, Spring!

Hello, pollen and bugs and pale legs and arms. Hello, painted toenails, shaving legs again, and mowing the lawn. Hello, flowers, yard sales, and Lucy never wanting to come in from outside. Hello, sweating every day.

Thank goodness seasons are brief.
