Thirty Before 30 Update… what to do now?

August 15, 2011

Thanks thanks, everyone, for all your kind words and sharing your stories this past week. It was so meaningful to us to read them and to hear your reactions. We appreciate you letting us share that with you.

Now that I’m out with it regarding our little secret, what is to be had regarding my Thirty before 30 list? There are a few items on there that just won’t happen… some that may need to be changed up. Here are some updates:

1. Run a 5K.… yeah. This just won’t happen, sadly. I can make this a #1 priority after the baby comes, but any suggestions on this would be greatly appreciated. Any substitute ideas? Seriously.

18.Find my favorite type of wine… so that I’ll know what I’m talking about when I order from a restaurant.… I’ve done a lot of research on this already. I’ll be sure to tell you what I’ve found, even though I won’t be drinking much of it until sometime next year.

21. Decide about getting a tattoo once and for all. And then stop talking about it! I think I’m going to go ahead and cross this one off the list. First of all, I can’t get one now because apparently you’re prone to more infections while pregnant. Secondly, I think this is just my sign that I am not going to get one if I haven’t gotten one already. Sad to think I’ve let that small dream die, but I don’t think it’s completely closed off forever…. I can just stop talking about it!

29.  Straighten up! Improve my posture and stop being a sloucher. I think more than any time in my life, this is a great opportunity for me to work on my posture. Especially with an expanding belly, back support will be very important as I gain extra weight and still continue my work and play lifestyle. I’ll keep you posted on how I work on this.

You should just walk a 5K! You could definitely still do that in the next couple months, and might be a good way to get in a walking routine in the meantime. It’ll keep the blood flowing :)

Good point. I have been working out 3-4 times a week still but for much less time than usual.

I agree! You can definitely still walk a 5K (I’ve actually heard of/seen pregnant women running 5Ks and half marathons, but let’s not be crazy, here). Walking is awesome for anyone though – and if you get into a walking routine now you may find keeping active later in pregnancy helps with the added weight/stress on your body!
